For weeks, little Ivan has been beaming with pride, sharing stories with his kindergarten classmates about his big brother, Luis, who is a soldier serving in the National Guard. This week, those stories came to life.

Luis dropped by for a visit, and the look on Ivan’s face said it all. We are so grateful for Luis’s service to our country and so happy we could witness such a sweet moment. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ

πŸŽ… A Message from the School
As the semester winds down, we are so excited for our upcoming Christmas Break! Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard this semester, and we can’t wait for everyone to enjoy a well-deserved rest and time with family.

Please make note of the schedule for our last day of school before the break, Thursday, December 19th. This will be a 60% day with an early dismissal. Buses will begin loading promptly at 11:45 AM, so please plan for this change in your afternoon routine. Also, please remember that no breakfast will be served on this day.

We truly hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season. We are wishing every one of our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We look forward to welcoming our students back, refreshed and ready to learn, on Tuesday, January 6th.

It looks like Ms. LaVergne's first-grade class is taking matters into their own hands! After waiting patiently, they decided to get proactive and build amazing, festive elf traps today. Their biggest question: What on earth is taking our elf so long to arrive?! πŸ€” We hope their traps work soon!

Mrs. Brooklyn's 4th Grade Class Throws a Birthday Bash for Mississippi! πŸ₯³ We took a break from the ordinary to celebrate the history and statehood of our beloved Mississippi!

From reviewing key facts about our capital to discussing important state symbols, the students had a blast learning while celebrating. The best part? Birthday treats, of course! It’s amazing what a little cookie cake can do to make history come alive.

We love learning about the Magnolia State! πŸ’™

Mrs. Doyle's 3rd grade math students are diving into area this unit! Students were given different shapes and challenged to build them using various sizes of unit squares. After creating their shapes, they counted the unit squares to determine the area.

We loved seeing their hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and β€œaha!” moments as they discovered how area changes with different units. So proud of their hard work and growing math skills! πŸ™ŒπŸ“

🌘✨ 5th Grade Science Fun! βœ¨πŸŒ’
Our 5th graders had a delicious hands-on lesson as they used Oreos to model the phases of the moon! πŸŒ•πŸŒ—πŸŒ‘

Students learned how the moon appears to change shape as it orbits Earth, then created each phase by carefully carving the cream from their cookies. πŸͺπŸ”

Learning is always sweeter when you can snack on it afterward! πŸ˜„πŸŒ™
