To ensure your masterpiece can be printed professionally, please follow these rules strictly:
1. KEEP IT FLAT
Because these must be scanned flat for printing, please do not glue anything onto the paper.
• NO glitter, macaroni, cotton balls, or pop-up elements.
2. SIZE & SHAPE
• Use the official template for hand drawn submissions. 
• Use 4x6 size if using Canva or other design programs.
• Landscape orientation (horizontal/sideways) is preferred!
3. ORIGINALITY
All work must be 100% original. Please do not include copyrighted characters (like Marvel, Disney, or cartoon characters).

Independence High School welcomed Daniel McDowell, a licensed plumber, to all three College & Career Readiness classes. Mr. McDowell discussed the qualifications and experience necessary to be a good plumber and presented various tools, fittings, joints, and pipes used in the plumbing industry. He also allowed several students the opportunity to demonstrate using these tools.

Postcard Contest
Atiya Pride, who will graduate May 23, recently expressed to Mr. Harris her interest in ultrasound and radiology. To provide Atiya some experience, Mr. Harris arranged for her to job shadow at Highland Hills Medical Center in Senatobia. Helping Atiya understand the computed tomography (CT) machine is TK Henry of Highland Hills Medical Center.

Postcard Contest
Our first IHS Bass Fishing Team started their season today at BaySprings. Townsend Keizor and Eli Stepp were able to get some points on the board today. They will travel to Pickwick next month and their team will be preparing for the State Tournament in May. Good luck on your first official season to Townsend Keizor, Eli Stepp, Brandon Dabbs, and Jayden Glosson! Thank you to Boat Captain Chris Jones for sponsoring this tournament! Go Wildcats!

Casey Drake, who will graduate this May, expressed to Mr. Harris her interest in making law enforcement her career. Hearing this, Mr. Harris arranged for her to job shadow at the Tate County Sheriff's Office (TCSO). Casey can be seen here assisting TCSO Investigator Ladarius White. While at the Sheriff's Office, Mr. Harris discovered a number of TCSO employees assisting Casey who graduated from Independence High School. Class of 2023 graduate, Caydence Brewer, will be competing at the Big Sky Indoor Championships today and tomorrow in Pocatello, Idaho. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ for anyone who would like to watch. She’ll be running the 60-meter, 200-meter, Sprint Medley Relay, and the 4x400 Relay.

Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat! We’re so excited to support her and cheer her on as a proud representative of our high school.

Independence High School welcomed Dr. Lynn Worley, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, to all three College & Career Readiness classes. Dr. Worley, who has 32 years of veterinary experience, explained the requirements necessary to enter veterinary school. She also discussed her experiences as a veterinarian and shared pictures of animals she has performed surgery on. At the conclusion of each class, Dr. Worley allowed students to handle several of the small animals she brought.

Independence High School senior Caleb Jackson revealed to Mr. Harris he was interested in becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). To provide him some experience, Mr. Harris arranged for Caleb to attend an EMT class at NWCC. One of the things Caleb experienced was applying oxygen to a mannequin.
