🚀 Out of this world! 🪐

Mrs. Mabry’s 5th graders officially completed their mission to explore the solar system! 👩‍🚀👨‍🚀 Their classroom was transformed into a galaxy of creativity this week as students presented their handmade models.

From the rings of Saturn to the craters on Mars, these young astronomers blew us away with their facts and craftsmanship. It’s one thing to read about the planets in a book, but seeing them brought to life like this is pure magic! 🌟

Check out some of our stellar scientists in action! 👇

🎶 Musical Chairs: Sight Word Edition! 🎶

Learning is never boring in Mrs. Gunter’s class! Today’s lesson used "Musical Chairs" to master our sight words. The energy was high, the music was loud, and the spelling was spot on. It’s amazing how much faster you learn when you’re having a blast!

Great job to all our scholars today! 📚🎶

It’s Random Acts of Kindness Day, Strayhorn Elementary! ⚡️ Today is all about turning the volume up on being awesome to each other and making our hallways the best place to be.

Kindness isn’t just a nice thought—it’s a total game-changer. It’s the "good luck" you shout before a big test, holding the door open for someone, or the simple "thank you" to the people who keep our school running every day. It’s about realizing that you have the power to completely flip someone’s day around in less than 60 seconds.

We’re turning our school into a kindness zone today. Look for those small moments to be a legend, start a ripple, and remind each other why it’s great to be a Mustang. 🌊

Let’s see how much of a difference we can make before the final bell rings.

📸 Get Ready to Smile! Spring Picture Day is Coming
Dust off those favorite outfits because Spring Picture Day is officially set for Thursday, February 19th starting at 7:35 AM. This is the perfect time to capture a fresh look for the season with various backgrounds and portrait packages available to choose from.

Please remember that a $2 proof fee is due on picture day to have your spring photos taken. This fee allows you to receive proofs later on, so you can view your photos and decide exactly which packages you’d like to order without any guesswork.

For any students who missed our earlier sessions, we will also be taking yearbook make-up pictures (no fee for these) during this time. Make sure you're ready to go right at the start of the day so you don't miss out!

Happy School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! 👮‍♂️✨

Today, we’re sending a huge shout-out to our very own Officer Gordon. We are so incredibly blessed to have him on the SES campus!

What truly sets Officer Gordon apart isn't just the uniform—it’s the heart he brings to the job every single day. We deeply appreciate how he takes the time to build genuine relationships with every student and staff member he meets. Whether he's high-fiving in the hallways, checking in during lunch, or offering a helping hand, he makes our school feel like a true community.

Thank you, Officer Gordon, for your dedication, your kindness, and for keeping our school a safe and welcoming place to learn! 💙📚

🔍 There’s a mystery to solve in Mrs. Brister’s science lab today! Our sixth graders turned into junior paleontologists as they dove into owl pellet dissections. From tiny skulls to hidden ribs, they’re piecing together the food web one discovery at a time. It’s amazing what you can find when you look a little closer! 🕵️‍♂️🔬

Thank you to our community for staying safe and patient! 🐎✨ We are so proud of how our students jumped right back into the swing of things proving that it takes more than a little winter weather to slow down our drive to learn.💪📚
