We are so excited to announce our Farm Bureau Coloring Contest winners and show off the creativity of our amazing students. A huge congratulations goes out to Gatlin for taking home 1st place, Ava for earning 2nd place, and Browdy for rounding things out with 3rd place! Today we are celebrating a truly familiar face and a cornerstone of our district, the wonderful Mrs. Cindy Clayton! With an incredible 27 years of dedicated service to our school system, Cindy has been a vital part of our students' lives long before she became the welcoming voice in our front office. Having spent years as a devoted teacher assistant at our sister school in the district before bringing her talents to Strayhorn Elementary, she possesses a unique heart for education and a deep understanding of our community. Her transition from the classroom to the heart of the office has been a gift to us all, and her nearly three decades of commitment speak volumes about her passion for our kids. Even as we head into the final stretch of the school year, the learning never stops at Strayhorn Elementary! We are still working hard through these last nine weeks, and our students are finding plenty of hands-on ways to stay engaged. Mrs. Mabry’s 5th grade science class recently put their skills to the test with a fantastic Silly Putty lab, diving into the world of polymers and chemical reactions. It was the perfect blend of serious science and "silly" fun, proving that even as the days get warmer, our Mustangs are staying focused and curious. We are so proud of the effort our students and teachers are putting in to finish this year strong!
